One of my highlights of the 2013 season was going to the Big Apple and seeing Columbia beat Dartmouth for the Ivy League title in the first weekend of May. The smallish Satow Stadium was stacked to the gills and the track railing and parking lot fenceline were both filled with fans. It was an electric atmosphere, even for the freakin’ Ivy League.
Today, not as many fans. And not as an electric atmosphere, I admit. But this is still considered “opening weekend” for Ivy League play and Yale proved to be an impressive victor. And why not, aren’t these Bulldogs the same ones who went down to take on the mighty LSU Tigers and beat them in their own jungle?
Okay StitchHeads, a quick apology. Yes, I’m in the middle of a bunch of college hockey and college baseball writing right now, so my postings here were a little hither and yon this past weekend. But fear not, the latest college baseball Power Rankings are out So give this highlighted copy a click and start your bitchin’.
Before we get to this latest rant on scheduling. Here’s the latest thingee I hacked together for Worldwide Leader:
Not a lot of movement in this week’s Power Rankings due to the relatively pathetic list of games on the docket. But if you want to catch up with the latest No B.S. rankings, check ‘em out below.
And as you guys know, you really need to catch up on your post-season college hockey scene, so you’ll know what to expect when the NCAA Tournament field is announced and the carnage begins.
Hey college baseball addicts. Slight delay in their posting of them, but here is the latest ESPN Power Rankings I promised.

As expected, mid-majors like Louisiana, Sam Houston State and Seton Hall made huge jumps onto the national stage and national powers Texas, Ole Miss and UCLA had impressive weeks and made some moves as well.
